Once both models have been exhibited at the Computex 2011 exhibition ago, ASRock has just officially introduced the duo motherboard AM3 + flagship product that is new 990FX Extreme4 and 970 Extreme4 intended to support CPU AMD Bulldozer in the future.

Both models support the AMD FX-Series processor quad-core, 6-core and 8-core, features four DDR3 memory slots that are compatible with 2100MHz memory modules (or even higher) and also includes three PCI Express x16 slots.

Configure both the motherboard, it appeared that different motherboards based on the model chosen. ASRock 990FX Extreme4 run three slots in x16/x16/x4 mode, while the ASRock 970 Extreme4 x8/x8/x4 mode.

For expansion options include a pair of PCI Express x1 slots, two legacy PCI slot 32-bit and eight SATA ports on 6Gbps the ASRock 990FX Extreme4, while the ASRock 970 Extreme4 model includes the same number of slots but only five slots eSATA connector 6Gbps storage.

Both solutions include a series of easy overclocking features like the on-board Power and Reset buttons, display debug bios and the I / O Clear CMOS behind.

Meanwhile, on the back of the motherboard, users will find two PS / 2 ports, a pair of USB 3.0 ports, four or six USB 2.0 ports, a FireWire connector, an eSATA port, Gigabit LAN connectivity and 7.1-channel audio with coaxial and optical S / PDIF out.

Two more USB 3.0 ports are available via on-board pin header and ASRock 990FX Extreme4 also equipped with front panel USB 3.0 that also has room to install a 2.5-inch storage drive.

ASRock 990FX Extreme4 includes 8 +2 phase power design, while the ASRock 970 Extreme4 has a 5-phase construction is simpler, but both motherboards are able to handle processors with TDP of 140W.
